Visualising guidelines and exceedances in Power BI

The "Power BI and Data Analytics for Enviros" meetup group is all about sharing tips, tricks and hacks for analysing, visualising and communicating environmental data. The purpose of this blog is to summarise the key take-aways from the sessions, to help with sharing knowledge, empowering others and creating a strong data culture across our community.

April 2025: Session summary

We often assess environmental data against one (or more) guidelines but it can be notoriously challenging to model, calculate and visualise inside of Power BI. In this episode, Alice explored several real-world tips and tricks for working with guidelines and exceedances in Power BI, and Daniel showcased a custom Deneb visual he created to highlight water quality exceedances over time, and share his lessons learnt for improving report efficiency!! The session was very engaging and lots of fun so we hope you enjoy and learn something from it!
