What we'll do
The line-up is:
1) An Intro into the World of Custom Visuals: Daniel Marsh-Patrick (~ 20 mins)
Daniel Marsh-Patrick, Power BI custom visual developer extraordinaire, will give us a quick intro into the world of custom visuals, from no-code, to low-code to full blown development - he'll share the different options you have available and show you some of his very own visuals!
2) Beyond "Click and Viz": Kerry Kolosko (~ 20 mins)
We are increasingly using data viz to convey information but how do we make our Corporate coloured bar charts stand out from all the other Corporate coloured bar charts? Kerry will discuss and demonstrate creative uses of custom visuals to enhance visual communication, provide context to reports and engage audiences.
3) Top 5 custom visuals that Enviro's need to know: Alice Drummond (~20 mins): There are close to 300 Power BI custom visuals out there on the marketplace... but Alice will share her top 5 for visualising environmental data, and walk through loads of demo's of how to apply them!
4) Networking, Q&A and "Ask the Enviro Experts panel" (30 mins)

Daniel Marsh-Patrick is a Microsoft MVP for the Data Platform, who has a passion for Power BI custom visual development. During his 18 year career across the UK and New Zealand, Daniel has been helping drive enterprise-wide solutions through process and software engineering; predominantly through Business Intelligence (BI), data visualisation and software integration. He is extremely passionate about the Microsoft BI stack, specifically Power BI, and has been delivering Power BI solutions since 2014. He regularly presents and blogs on a variety of Power BI subjects and is a contributor of custom visuals to the Power BI Marketplace.
Kerry is experienced in data analysis and reporting, specialising in Power BI. She brings her studies in psychology and human perception, passion for arts and general geekiness to create tailored reporting for executive audiences.
Alice Drummond is co-founder of DiscoverEI and her passion is finding clever ways to process, analyse and share environmental data. Alice is heavily involved in the Power BI community, being a Microsoft MVP for the Data Platform. Drawing on her background working for over 9 years as environmental engineer specialising in surface water and groundwater modelling, Alice works collaboratively with government organisations to turn mountains of data into practical, useful, decision-guiding insights. Alice has a deep understanding of how environmental data can be used to provide insights, drive efficiencies and really improve communication.
