Alice Drummond
The "Power BI and Data Analytics for Enviros" meetup group is all about sharing tips, tricks and hacks for analysing, visualising and communicating environmental data. The purpose of this blog is to summarise the key take-aways from the sessions, to help with sharing knowledge, empowering others and creating a strong data culture across our community.
Session summary
Spoil management is an integral part of any construction project. West Gate Tunnel Project provided an opportunity to develop a centralised data management system and hence near real-time reporting Power BI solution to monitor movement of spoil from one site to another. This presentation by the Agile Analytics team focused on operational reporting using Power BI for the construction industry highlighting solutions to address the following challenges:
How key business problems can be solved through reporting.
How key stakeholders can make informed decisions to run successful operations.
How time and money can be saved when information is available at hand.
