The next generation of maps for Power BI with Icon Map Pro
Alice Drummond
The "Power BI and Data Analytics for Enviros" meetup group is all about sharing tips, tricks and hacks for analysing, visualising and communicating environmental data. The purpose of this blog is to summarise the key take-aways from the sessions, to help with sharing knowledge, empowering others and creating a strong data culture across our community.
June 2024: Session summary
This session saw how to use the Icon Map Pro visual to achieve some of the more advanced mapping requirements in Power BI. James Dales showed us his new custom visual, which opens up more opportunities for creating more complex geospatial visuals. For example working with your own polygons to create choropleth maps, drawing lines, shapes and images to create interactive utility network diagrams and clustering data using the H3 hexagon grid system.
Our Speaker: James Dales
